This photo album is one of the many gifts that Lauren from Bohemian Bisoux Vintage has mailed to me. We have been exchanging surprise gifts and it is always a delight to find a package from her in the mailbox. All of the photographs in this album are from a family vacation taken in August 1939 and I just adore all of her outfits. All of the scenes have me dreaming of a long summer trip in the car.

My dad is a truck driver and when we were kids my brother and I would take turns going for week long trips with him, hauling loads of steel to rust belt cities. Most of my childhood memories of summer are of truck stops, country music cassette tapes, studying the atlas, and steel mills.

I don't know where we will be living this summer, but I hope that there will be a few long car rides to new places. I would love to see Crater Lake and Redwood National Park. Where would you like to go this summer? What was your favorite family vacation?

  1. How lucky are you to have this little photobook! It's so wonderful! I've always wanted to go to Crater Lake. I hope to go this year!

  2. This photo album is really lovely! I'd love to go somewhere warm - somewhere in the Mediterranean with beautiful light! It'd be really nice to create a keepsake like this book to remember holidays by.
