I have loved and collected vintage necklaces for a while now, but lately they are my absolute favorite thing to collect for myself and the shop. Each one is like a little piece of art and I love hunting for them and photographing them. These are some of my favorites that I've found for the shop recently. The blue Art Deco Czech glass necklace was in a bin of old jewelry that our carpenter brought to the house, he said that the bins had been sitting on his mom's front porch for years. They were mostly full of single clip on earrings and broken jewelry, but the second time I went through I found the most beautiful necklace. I was smiling for the rest of the day. Expect to see more jewelry in the shop in 2015, especially necklaces! Thanks for another great year of selling vintage!

Last winter before we moved out of our home in Portland I shot a roll of film. We had a lot of phone and digital pictures of the house, but film seemed more sincere. This week I finally had the film processed and I am so happy that we have these images. There was a rare snowstorm in Portland and our evergreens were blanketed in snow and the pond was frozen. Hundreds of robins were in the trees and drinking water from the pond.

A little peek inside of my studio at our new house. It's just a small bedroom, but I really love the space. In the mornings before I start working I drink coffee in my robe, watch the birds sing, and look at all of the pieces that I have collected. Lots of pretty lingerie, dresses, shoes, and jewelry is coming to the shop.

1990s blouse: thrifted
1940s rayon skirt: Dethrose Vintage
1940s necklace: eBay
I love this little corner of our yard. It is full of pine trees, violets, and ferns. I have been dreaming of turning it into a little woodland garden and planting more native wildflowers. It is the perfect spot to spend the afternoon reading a book.
A light blouse and skirt has been my summer uniform. When I was in Chicago a few weeks ago I met Karyn from Dethrose Vintage and visited the shop that she co-owns, Market Supply Co. I found my new favorite summer skirt. The rayon is so cool and breezy and I love the wide waistband. The necklace is something that I purchased for the shop recently, but I don't think that I will be able to let it go.
I hope you are having a great summer!
